Around the island

This will be the last entry for Gran Canaria.

Photo 1: A unique little village on a sinuous road crossing the island. The houses are all built right into the rock. It somehow makes me think of Jordan or Yemen, but not Spain...

Photo 2: The natural sand dunes of Maspalomas on the southern part of the island.

Photo 3: Hiking signs on Gran Canaria.

Photo 4: The Roque Nublo or Clouded Rock, the islands second highest peak, 1813 m. This monolith was formed from a volcanic eruption about 4.5 million years ago!

Photo 5: A view down to the sea from the top of Roque Nublo. The white spots are greenhouses.
