A few weeks ago I spent the weekend hiking the first 2 days of the Tour du Mont-Blanc. It begins just a short bus ride away from Martigny on Col de la Forcla and meanders up and down and through colourful forest to Champex Lac. After a refreshing night it is onwards to La Foully located in the Val de Ferret. The weather was perfectly warm, and the colours surrounding me seemed almost unreal, as if I was hiking in a painting. Lovely shades of orange and yellow accompanied me with each step.
